And here I thought something was horribly wrong with my HTML skills. Apparently this sidebar issue has squat to do with me. I sent an email to Blogger help, and this is the email they sent back:

I love the informal “hi there” that they use to start the email. Because, you know, me and Blogger support are old buddies. Anyway, I suppose I just have to wait for them to figure out what the hell they’ve done to my blog. At least I’m not alone, I noticed the same problem happening over at One Good Thing.
Ok, so the weekend. You remember how we got some bedroom furniture? And then we decided – after the furniture was delivered, no less – to completely redecorate the room down to the freakin’ baseboards? Yeah. The contractor guy did the crown moulding on Thursday, which looks great. And in the spirit of having a whole new and improved bedroom, I rented a steam cleaner from the supermarket and cleaned the carpet. Then I decided to do all of the carpets in the house while I was at it. Have you ever tried to steam clean a flight of stairs? Lord have mercy, I am in pain. The good news is that we finished up all of our renovations to our bedroom last night, which made me happy. In fact, I was as happy as one could expect, seeing as I was hunched over at a 45-degree angle with excruciating back spasms.
So yay! for the new bedroom. And yay! for the massage I scheduled for tomorrow. Now please excuse me while I go shove some more tylenol down my throat.

more pics & other stuff
I just got my cousin Alphagal’s pictures from the rehearsal dinner uploaded. I have a lot of wedding photos from her too (as well as my sister), but I need to sort through them all so I can make a little online wedding photo album. It’s coming soon, I promise.
In other news, we got a new car this weekend! We had to get rid of Dave’s insanely expensive car that we couldn’t afford, so we got the new Subaru Tribeca instead, which is very cool. I’ll spare you the nerdy details (you can read them on Subaru’s website, if you like), but it has lots of neat little gadgets which immediately made Dave fall in love with it. It’s very spaceship-y – he can practice his best Captain Kirk impression while he’s driving it. (“Khaaaaaaannn!!!!”) So that’s happy. Of course, test-driving cars all weekend prevented us from making it to a theater to see the new Star Wars movie, but hopefully we’ll be able to do that sometime this week.
In blog-related news, I’ve tweaked my sidebar a bit, rearranged some stuff, added a link to Dooce (who, incidentally, I found by random blog-hopping and it turns out that she went to high school with best friend Kris and guy friend Chris G – and she’s a very funny, clever writer, which is why I’m linking to her), and I’ve added a little mood-of-the-day icon, courtesy of unkymoods. I think it’s cute. Hope y’all like. Happy Monday!
This scares me
My website hosts allow me to see what search terms are leading people to my blog. Here are few in my top 25 that I find truly, deeply disturbing:
* Teenie porn pics – WTF?? Teenie is my cat, people. As in feline, not as in p… oh, nevermind. Pervs!! And this is not something that’s only come up once, it’s come up about 10 times. Ick!!
* Bootylicious – Gee, I can’t imagine what they were looking for there.
* Dilated pupils – ???
* Sexy Christmas outfit – again, ???
* Cindy in panties – This made me laugh out loud, as that is something that you will never, EVER see on my blog.
* My sister’s bra – Again, something that’s never gonna be featured on poobou.com.
* Panty smells pics – I have no idea what this means, as smell is not something that can be visually captured. Regardless, all I can say to the person who searched for this is: you sick bastard.
In other news, I finally fixed my sidebar, which I’ve been needing to do for… oh, forever. And I’ve added a link to the Sarcastic Journalist, because her blog makes me laugh.

How, oh how, did Wendy make it to the final 3 on Project Runway? Someone please explain it to me, because I am distraught that Austin got cut. I know some people didn’t like him (I know some people even considered him dead to them), but even his strongest detractors must concede that just his blonde foppish bangs alone had more talent than Wendy has in her entire skunk-striped soul. Blah. Everyone knows she’s only there because the producers have a say in who gets cut. I hope she gets destroyed at fashion week.
Btw, if any of you read Manolo’s shoe blog, it has a great summary of this past episode of Project Runway. He’s also where I found these links to the final 3 designers’ web sites: Jay, Kara Saun, and even our nemesis, Wendy.
I also have to mention this great new blog that I found, the Bad Date Club. It’s basically 2 girls’ stories of their really horrible dating experiences as young, professional, single women living in a medium-sized midwestern town. I read the whole thing this afternoon, it’s hilarious. I cannot recommend it enough.
In other news: Dave is back home from Massachusetts, and he has some kind of weird cold/flu thing. So much for our big romantic Valentine’s weekend getaway to the mountains. Sigh. It’s ok, we’ve rescheduled for next weekend. In dog news, Rose has yet to reappear, so maybe her mom is being more attentive after getting a “hey, we have your dog” call from the neighbors. Oh, and I’ve had 2 job interviews this week, both of which were really promising (and both of which would include significant raises), so fingers crossed there. I guess that’s about it.

I don’t know if any of you are as obsessed with celebrity mocking as I am, but if you’re anywhere close, you need to go see Go Fug Yourself – yet another thing for which I must give props to Sally at Catoptric. It’s all photos of celebrities and some of the most genius fashion commentary I have ever read. Great posts you should see include Ashlee Simpson, Juliette Lewis, and my favorite, Britney Spears (actually, there’s lots of Britney-mocking on that site, but that one remains my favorite). I’ve recently seen the girls who created this website as commentators on some “awesomely bad fashion” show on VH-1. Go figure.
The other is Manolo’s Shoe Blog. It is hilarious, and my favorite picture there so far is this one of Paris Hilton and Pam Anderson. I guess Pam doesn’t care so much about her panties being visible in public, since most of the world has already seen her naked. Panties seem downright modest by her standards. Oh yeah, Pammy is also wearing leg warmers on her arms. Riiiiight.
Prepare to have a couple of hours sucked out of your day with those. I’ve added them to my “Fun Links” section for future reference.
