funny pics & other stuff

I don’t know why it has been impossible for me to clean my apartment this week. Maybe it’s because I feel like I’m coming down with a cold. Or maybe I’m just lazy. But it’s bugging me, I have several loads of (clean, mind you) laundry that’s sitting on the floor waiting to be put away. Ah well, maybe this weekend.

Speaking of which, I’m very excited that Nate & I will be having Drunk Movie Night tomorrow. A couple of mediocre flicks & a bottle of Orange Stoli, what else does a girl need on a Friday night? I am soooooooo looking forward to that after the week that I’ve had.

And now, a few funny images which I am presenting for your general amusement….

First, this one seemed particularly appropriate since Scott & I had a conversation about cigarette butts on sidewalks the other day.

This is the kind of parent I hope to be someday: Better Than Time Out

I really hope this is a joke, or maybe this guy’s family really understood his weird sense of humor. I don’t know, I just have this funny feeling that someone’s going to hell for that….

And my personal favorite – he does what???

That is all. Goodnight, folks.

goodbye to "sexy motherf*er"

Ok, this story absolutely cracked me up. I want to move to Minnesota just in the off chance Prince might knock on my door & try to convert me. However, this part made me a little sad:

“Prince, who once demanded to be known by a symbol rather than by his name, reportedly banned 50 explicit songs from his playlist after his religious awakening in 2001. “

And you know, his explicit songs are the only ones I like. No more “Erotic City” or “Gett Off”? What’s the point?!?!!

now that's what I call nationalistic pride

I bought this sweater at Ross on Saturday, and wore it today. I’m totally NOT a brand name person, so I didn’t even bother to look at the label on it — I just noticed that it was $9.99, and it looked cute on me, so I bought it. Anyway, I’m getting ready for bed right now so I went to fold the sweater & put it away. I noticed that the brand name was “United States Sweaters“. Thinking that was kind of an odd name, I checked the rest of the label. Sure enough, in small print below that, it says:

“Knitted in Taiwan. Finished in China.”

I got a pretty good chuckle out of that one.

heh

Ok, you have to forgive the web site name that’s at the bottom of this picture — I know it’s tacky & rude. But this picture really made me laugh for some reason.

Which I needed, because I had a really awful day, which I don’t much feel like talking about. So there.

14 year-old boneless contortionists & other fun

I saw Cirque du Soleil last night with Scott. And may I just say, WOW! We caught the Alegria tour – my understanding is that there’s several of them currently touring around the country at any given time. I have to say, I really wasn’t at all sure that I was going to be into it, and I was totally blown away. It was a great show. If it happens to pass through your town, go see it.

Oh yeah, if anyone gets this, please fill me in on the joke. I think it’s funny, but I can’t explain why:

Badgers & Mushrooms

Be careful – that song will stick in your head for ages.
