nesting

This week has been pretty low-key since the in-laws have departed. Dave and I have been enjoying having the house to ourselves again, and I think we’re going through some kind of cocooning phase. It’s nice. But to that end, there isn’t a whole lot going on right now that would qualify as good blog material. So instead, I’ve updated my sidebar to include a whole bunch of other blogs that I compulsively read almost daily. You might notice, if you click on the links, that a lot of them are what one might call “mommy blogs”. Don’t read too much into that. I’ve already been accused of being pregnant once this week, and I did not respond too kindly to it. Yes, Dave and I want to have kids at some point, but it’s going to be a while before that happens. We probably won’t even start trying until next year at the earliest. So simmer down. When I get knocked up, believe me, Internet, you’ll be the first to know. Meanwhile, the mommy blogs that I’ve linked to just happen to be written by some very funny and creative women. That’s all.

In other news, there will be more wedding photos posted soon, as my mom just sent me a CD with all of her pictures on it. (I was going to post them today, but I left the CD at home.) I know that seems like an odd way to receive digital pictures, but believe me, if you had to try to explain to my mother how to copy files onto her hard drive and then add multiple attachments to an email, you would end up telling her to go to Wal-Mart and have them put the pictures on a damn CD and just send the blasted thing through the regular ol’ postal service. Which is exactly what I did.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I’ll try to do something interesting that will make this blog worth reading on Monday.

  1. That could be it. Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that no one I know in real life has nearly as many hilarious stories about poop and other random gross body functions.

  2. I TOTALLY read a whole selection of mommy blogs too, and am even further away from being a mommy myself than you are. Something about them is really addicting — maybe that they kind of have a narrative? That watching kids grow up, or pregnant women get closer to having their babies, is more of a linear story than other kinds of blogs?
